It could have been worse...Australia didn't get colour TV until 1975! (there had been a limited amount of colour broadcasting prior to this in the country) Needless to say when colour sets became available they sold like hotcakes.

BTW, any chance of 1950s video-taped US colour shows becoming available on here? I know several (not many) such tapes still exist.

That 1960 Peter Pan I linked for Quigs comes close, being that it was in color and broadcast live and/or taped.
